Itinerary

With the approach of summer, what better than a train journey to one of Britain's classic seaside destinations, Scarborough. We shall follow our regular route through Derby to York. Shortly thereafter the train takes the scenic route through Malton before reaching our destination of Scarborough.

Alternatively, passengers may opt to alight at York to take in all of the attractions that this famous city has to offer, including of course, the World famous National Railway Museum.

46233 Duchess of Sutherland will take us all the way from Tyseley to Scarborough in the morning. In the afternoon, 46233 will take us back as far as Derby. From Derby to Tyseley the train will be diesel hauled.

Stations & Times

Pick up : Tyseley Warwick Road*, Coleshill Parkway, Tamworth, Burton and Derby

* Please note that there is a 10 minute walk between Tyseley mainline station and Tyseley Warwick Road Platform.

Set down : York and Scarborough

Times : subject to confirmation

Tickets, final information and confirmed timings are mailed out to passengers AS SOON AS VINTAGE TRAINS RECEIVE FINAL TIMINGS FROM NETWORK RAIL, normally about ten days before a tour is scheduled to depart.

Club Class
Traditional 'open' coaches with tables for 4 persons. Includes light refreshments in both directions.

Premier Dining *
Dining at tables for 2 and 4 persons in BR Mk 1 Pullman Cars.

We offer a 'Table for Two' guarantee (subject to availability of tables) in Premier for an additional payment.

First Class Compartment:
Traditional 'compartment' coaches with compartments for 6 persons.

A selection of beers, wines and spirits willl be available for purchase (by dining and club passengers) from the dining car team.

Special dietary requirements must be requested when making your booking.

Juniors & Children within Dining Cars: There is no special child menu & no reduced child fare in Premier Class.  We regret we are unable to accommodate children under 5 in the dining cars.
